Tererés

Coloured thread worked around the hair, strand by strand. A tradition that crossed the Atlantic, for anyone who wants colour without a permanent commitment.

What they are

A tereré is a section of hair wrapped in thread, tightened from top to bottom, producing a firm braid full of colour. It can be a single one hidden in a side parting, or a whole head in an ombré.

We make tererés in loose hair and also over existing dreadlocks — one of the simplest ways to change your look without touching the structure underneath.

Colour and durability

You pick the colours at the start of the session; we always keep a wide palette and put tones together with you. Bring a reference if you already have an idea.

They last from a few weeks to several months, depending on your hair and how many you get. They come off easily and leave no trace.

Frequently asked questions

Can you do them on children?

Yes, one of our favourite jobs — quick, painless and it changes nothing about the hair.

Can I go to the beach with tererés?

You can. After salt or chlorine, rinse with fresh water and dry well. That is all.
