Hair grows and the root opens up. Maintenance closes that growth, works loose hair back in and returns each lock to the shape it had on day one.
What a maintenance session covers
We work the root of every lock to bring in the new growth, separate locks that have started to merge, integrate loose strands along the body of each lock and finish tips that have opened.
It is also when we assess the bigger picture: locks that have become too heavy, tension spots on the scalp, weak points worth reinforcing before they break.
How often
It depends on how fast your hair grows and on the type of locks you have. As a reference, two to four maintenance sessions a year cover most cases.
You do not need to wait until it looks bad. Regular short sessions are faster, cheaper and better for your hair than one big intervention every two years.
Frequently asked questions
Do you maintain dreadlocks made elsewhere?
Yes, gladly. We ask for a photo first to understand the technique used — if there is wax or glue involved we will tell you honestly what can be done.
Should I wash my hair before coming?
Yes. Come with clean, fully dry hair, without oils or creams. It makes a real difference to the result.
