We are a team with more than a decade of experience creating, maintaining and rebuilding dreadlocks in Lisbon. We work with the crochet needle technique — no chemicals, no wax. Just your hair, patience and hands that have done this thousands of times.

Who we are
Tribo do Amor
Om Rastas started in 2012 from a simple idea: that hair is a place where you keep your story. Since then our hands have made dreadlocks from scratch, rebuilt old work, added natural and synthetic extensions, tied tererés and made adornments one by one.
We welcome you at our space in Santa Apolónia, Lisbon — unhurried, with music playing. And several times a year we pack everything into the van and head to the Alentejo, the Algarve, the North and the festivals. If we are not near you now, chances are we will be soon.

How do I book?
By direct message on Instagram @omrastas. Send a photo of your hair (loose and dry) and tell us what you would like. We reply with a plan, an estimated duration and a quote.
Do you use chemicals, wax or glue?
Never. We work exclusively with the crochet needle technique and by hand. No chemicals, no wax, no glue — those are exactly what cause smell, mildew and dreadlocks that never fully close.
How long does my hair need to be?
For natural dreadlocks we can usually start from around 10–15 cm, depending on your hair texture. With shorter hair — or if you want instant length and volume — extensions are the answer.
How long does it take?
A full installation can take 4 to 12 hours, split across one or two sessions depending on the number and thickness of the locks. Maintenance is much quicker. We always give you an estimate before booking.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on length, hair density, the number of locks and the material used. That is why we quote individually once we have seen a photo — just ask us on Instagram.
Do you travel outside Lisbon?
Yes. We run regular roadtrips across Portugal (Alentejo, Algarve, the North) and work at festivals. Dates and areas are announced in our Instagram stories and highlights.
