About us
We are Om Rastas — a team that has been making dreadlocks in Lisbon since 2012, with the crochet needle technique, no chemicals and no rush.
A decade of hands
We started in 2012 and never stopped learning. We install dreadlocks from scratch, maintain them, rebuild old work, remove them, add natural and synthetic extensions, tie tererés and make adornments by hand.
We are a team, not a single chair. That lets us take on big heads, long jobs and four-handed sessions when something has to be finished the same day.
How we work
Crochet needle only. No wax, no glue, no chemicals — ever. It is slower and harder, and it is why our work lasts years without smell or mildew.
Before any session we look at photos and talk. We explain what is possible, what is not, and how long it takes. If we do not believe in the result, we say so.
Santa Apolónia and the road
Our space is in Santa Apolónia, Lisbon — a calm place where an eight-hour session passes easily. And several times a year we roadtrip across Portugal: Alentejo, Algarve, the North, and the summer festivals.
